Mr. Herzog is the founder of Fortunatus Investments and currently serves as Chief Executive Officer and as an Investment Analyst on the investment policy team. A financial advisor for over 30 years, he founded Executive Wealth Management, an independent registered investment advisor, in 1981. Albert received a B.A. from Michigan State University and an M.B.A. from the University of Michigan.
Vice President & Co-Founder
Mr. Chechel is a co-founder of Fortunatus Investments and serves on the investment policy team as an Investment Analyst. Michael also is a Vice President and Partner of Executive Wealth Management, an independent investment advisor. He brings extensive experience from the financial industry and Wall Street to the investment team. Michael received a B.A. in Business Administration from Dowling College.
Chief Investment Officer
Nathan has been the Chief Investment Officer with Fortunatus Investments since 2015, prior to that he served as a consultant to Executive Wealth Management since 2006 and Fortunatus since its inception. He has been integrated into the design of the investment models at Fortunatus from the founding of the company. His specialties include development, testing, and implementation of systematic rules-based investment strategies. Prior to joining Fortunatus full time, Nathan was the Director of Research at AdvisorGuide, LLC an investment research firm. Nathan grew up in the Chicago area, and now resides with his wife and two boys in Farmington, Michigan. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in History from Taylor University, Upland, IN and his Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA) designation.
Greg has been on the investment policy committee with Fortunatus Investments since 2011. He currently oversees the Northville, Michigan branch of Executive Wealth Management. Greg's background lies in accounting and financial planning. He is currently a Private Wealth Advisor with Executive Wealth Management and maintains, in registered status, his CPA® accreditation.
Adam Kulesza, MBA, CFP®, ChFC, CLU
Mr. Kulesza is on the investment policy committee of Fortunatus Investments as an Investment Analyst and is also a financial advisor with Executive Wealth Management. He received his B.A from the University of Michigan and an M.B.A. from Cleary University.
Quantitative Financial Analyst
Mr. Scully provides assistance in the collection, maintenance, and quantitative analysis of the financial data needed to develop and maintain the models for Fortunatus Investments. Kevin received his Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry from Wayne State University.
Michael Lay, CFP®
Chief Operating Officer
Mr. Lay oversees the daily activities of employees and operations of Fortunatus Investments and reports directly to Mr. Herzog, the CEO of Fortunatus. Michael received his B.B.A with a concentration in Finance from the University of Michigan, Ross School of Business and earned his Certified Financial Planner (CFP designation in 2011.
Kyrstin Ritsema, IACCP®
Chief Compliance Officer
Kyrstin joined Executive Wealth Management in November of 2015 after over 10 years with her previous firm, UBS Financial Services. As EWM’s dedicated full-time, Chief Compliance Officer, she is responsible for ensuring that EWM, its affiliates, and all associated persons are complying with regulatory requirements as well as internal policies and procedures. A graduate of Michigan State University, Kyrstin joined UBS in 2005 and proceeded to obtain several industry licenses including the Series 7 General Securities Representative Exam, Series 66 Uniform Combined State Law Exam, Series 9 General Securities Sales Supervisor – Options Module Exam and her Series 10 General Sales Supervisor – General Module Exams. In 2016 Kyrstin completed accreditation to obtain her Investment Advisor Certified Compliance Professional , or IACCP, designation. Accepting the Chief Compliance Officer role in March of 2016, Kyrstin relies on her industry experience, ongoing continuing education and respected outside consultants to ensure EWM is not only meeting, but exceeding regulatory and internal compliance expectations.
When not perusing the Securities and Exchange Commission website, Kyrstin enjoys her short commute to her Brighton home to spend time with her husband, Nick and their two children. With any time left after family activities and sports, Kyrstin pursues her lifetime passion of equestrian sports in the Hunter/Jumper world. As a previous captain of the Michigan State University Equestrian team (2002), Kyrstin continues to support that organization as well as supporting and promoting events for the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.
